Wrexham became a city on Thursday 1st September 2022 after being awarded the status as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Located approximately 5 miles west of the English border Wrexham is the largest city and administrative centre of North Wales. The city is situated approximately 13 miles southwest of Chester, 32 miles south of Liverpool and 54 miles southwest of Manchester. Wrexham city benefits from significant retail and commercial businesses and is home to Wrexham’s Glyndwr University which is situated on the edge of the City Centre.
Wrexham has very good transport links and excellent road communications with both the A483 and A534 in close proximity linking the city to Chester in the north and Nantwich and Crewe to the East.
